The role includes supervision, peer consultation, and crisis support, with a hybrid schedule allowing one virtual day weekly after onboarding.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a mental health field and NJ LCSW licensure, plus leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related mental health field required.
• Active professional licensure in New Jersey: LCSW.
• Experience supervising clinicians or teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry an active caseload of 15–20 clients.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments during intake.
• Provide clinical treatment planning, interventions, and discharge management.
• Meet biweekly with clinicians reporting to you.
• Assist with Higher Level of Care referrals.
• Provide support during crisis situations.
• Follow up on crisis screenings if the primary clinician is unavailable.
• Review charts biweekly for direct reports.
• Arrive 15 minutes before first session; stay on-site during scheduled hours.
• Participate in weekly clinical supervisor meetings and peer supervision groups.

This role also includes a leadership component, offering clinical feedback and consultation to peers, and participating in supervisory and peer meetings.

Reports to: Clinical Director

Position Summary

Tree of Life Counseling Center, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to serve in a clinical role providing mental health and/or substance use treatment. The Clinical Supervisor will maintain an assigned caseload, conduct client evaluations, and support therapeutic treatment planning through to discharge. This role also includes a leadership component, offering clinical feedback and consultation to peers, and participating in supervisory and peer meetings.

While this role will be based in our Princeton office, one virtual day per week is also permitted after initial onboarding period.

Only 1 late night per week is required!

Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry an active caseload of 15-20 clients


• Conduct psychosocial assessments during intake


• Provide clinical treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and manage discharge processes


• Meet biweekly with clinicians who report directly to you


• Assist clinicians with Higher Level of Care (HLOC) referrals


• Provide support during crisis situations


• Follow up on crisis screenings if the primary clinician is unable to do so


• Review client charts biweekly for direct reports (select several charts per clinician)


• Arrive 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled session each day


• Remain on-site during scheduled hours, even in the event of client cancellations, particularly when you are the only supervisor present

Participate Actively In All

• Weekly clinical supervisor meetings


• Scheduled peer supervision groups


• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Director and/or Senior Clinical Director

Additional Expectations

The Clinical Supervisor plays an integral leadership role in the clinical team and must demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong ethical standards, and the ability to mentor and support other clinicians. This is a key role in ensuring the continuity and quality of care within the agency.
