About The Role
The Clinical Supervisor position is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily activities of the staff for three or more office locations. The position is to analyze and evaluate departmental workflow with the goal of managing the daily operations of the clinic. The role does require a New York State RN or LPN license.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for overseeing the staff and operations of multiple office locations.
- Works closely with our Practice Manager to ensure optimal patient care and efficient patient flow from the reception department throughout the clinical areas.
- Ensures the office is properly staffed for efficient operation of daily business.
- Communicates and enforces company policies and procedures as they are established.
- Coordinates proper training process for all newly hired staff.
- Communicates realistic expectations to the clerical staff and
- Analyzes patient needs and practice objectives with employee competencies to position staff to most effectively utilize individual skills and strengths.
- Works with the Practice Manager to create and maintain patient templates ensuring patients are scheduled in proper blocks of time for each physician.
- Coaches and counsels’ employees by addressing areas of concern, handling discipline issues, assessing opportunities for better job performance, etc.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education / Licensure / Experience:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree preferred
- New York State RN or LPN license required
- 2-5 years of related experience required
- 2-5 years of nursing experience required
- Prior experience in supervisory role required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments across multiple office locations with attention to detail; Knowledge of quality, safety, and infection control standards; Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office systems; Knowledge of medical terminology; Ability to understand the importance of and respect the confidentiality of all patient information; Knowledge of a medical office environment preferred; Ability to conceptualize workflow, develop plans appropriate to each office location, and implement appropriate actions; Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across three or more office locations; Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form across multiple office locations; Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to staff and work under multiple priorities.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in a well-lighted laboratory setting. Work environment involves exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
Physical Demands:
The position requires sitting for a prolonged period of time with some walking and standing throughout the day. Work may require stooping and bending. May occasionally require lifting medical equipment or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, laboratory equipment and computers. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate documents.
