Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a pharmacist to join our hospital team on a full-time basis. The role operates 7 on/7 off, 10-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with full benefits. ED or ICU experience is preferred and eligibility for Texas licensure is required upon hire.

The successful candidate will review orders, counsel staff and patients, manage the IV lab and supervise technicians, while supporting formulary and cost-effective practices within a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Education: BS degree or PharmD required.
• 1 year of pharmacy experience.
• Licenses and certifications: Texas license eligible at hire; ACPE-IV sterile compounding; BLS; ACLS within 180 days for inpatient roles.

Responsibilities

• Performs job responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.
• Reviews medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness and documents interventions.
• Manages technicians, oversees controlled substances, and ensures safe distribution from IV lab.
• Communicates drug information to doctors, nurses, and patients and supports education.
• Enforces formulary use and cost-effective pharmacotherapy choices.
• Participates in clinical programs, data collection, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
