Job summary

Vanderbilt Health seeks a Clinical Staff Leader to oversee safe, effective patient care in the Stepdown Unit. The CSL provides leadership, supervises staff, and ensures policy implementation and quality adherence in a fast‑paced, 21‑bed telemetry environment.

Responsibilities include clinical consultations, staff development, procedure support, and maintaining regulatory compliance while coordinating with leadership to optimize resources and budgetary planning.

Qualifications

• Proven nursing leadership experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience supervising a unit or team of nurses.
• Familiarity with quality audits and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision for the Stepdown Unit.
• Collaborate with Stepdown Manager/Director to maintain quality care standards.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and inventory readiness; address issues to minimize disruptions.
• Support staff development, orientation, and ongoing training; assist with performance evaluations.
• Assist physicians during procedures and ensure accurate post‑procedure documentation.
• Schedule staff to optimize resource use and participate in budgeting and cost control.
