Job summary

Summit Care LLC is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, swallowing, cognition, or voice disorders in a facility setting. The SLP will develop and implement treatment plans, maintain records, and collaborate with patients, families, and staff to improve quality of life.

The role requires a licensed SLP, demonstrated communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work within facility policies and safety guidelines in Kansas.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.
• Valid Speech-Language Pathology License to practice in appropriate state(s).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective leadership and customer relations skills.
• Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats speech, language, swallowing, cognition or voice disorders.
• Develops and implements treatment plans with functional, measurable outcomes.
• Oversees maintenance of therapy records and documentation.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment needed for therapy.
• Maintains appropriate patient schedules per guidelines.
• Documents medical records for reimbursement and facility requirements.
• Participates in meetings with patients, families, and staff as appropriate.
• Follows safety and emergency procedures and training requirements.
• Coordinates or participates in training programs for staff and residents.
• Initiates new program development to improve quality of life for residents.
