The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Social Worker within the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, Social Work Service, Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT), at the Fort Smith, AR CBOC. Applicants may be pending licensure but must meet requirements before hiring.

GS-9/GS-11 level positions require MSW, state licensure, and relevant clinical experience. Strong counseling, assessment, and coordination with community resources are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensure or certification by a state for independent practice (except certain grandfathered cases).
• Competence in counseling Veterans and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to assess psychosocial functioning and formulate treatment plans.
• Knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, treatment procedures, and terminology.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and formulate and implement treatment plans.
• Provide counseling to individuals, families, and groups to achieve treatment goals.
• Coordinate services and refer to community and governmental resources.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
