Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Clinical Social Work Supervisor to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and supervision for social work services hospital-wide, with a focus on vulnerable populations in the Emergency Department, Women and Infant Services, and inpatient units. You will improve patient care and promote positive outcomes through collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited program.
• LICSW licensure (District of Columbia).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in social work or counseling with complex patient populations.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and leadership for social work staff, including support for licensure development and professional growth.
• Oversee assessment, intervention, care coordination, and discharge planning for complex and vulnerable patient populations.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate psychosocial programs, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor quality of care, patient outcomes, and compliance with hospital standards and best practices.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and education, and support staff accountability and development.
• Serve as a resource for patients and families by providing counseling, crisis support, and connection to community and financial resources.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and timely transitions of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in hiring, staff selection, strategic planning, and hospital/community initiatives as assigned.
