Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Social Work Supervisor to lead the administrative and clinical operations of the social services program, overseeing daily team performance and patient transitions across care levels. You will ensure high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered services while contributing to program development and staff training.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, at least 5 years of social work experience, and licensure (LCSW/LCSW-C) with Board Certified

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work required.
• Minimum of 5 years of social work experience required.
• LCSW or LCSW-C required upon hire.
• Board Certified Supervisor certification required upon hire.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with clinical supervision, program oversight, and interdisciplinary collaboration strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the social work team, including scheduling, timekeeping, payroll, and on-call coverage.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision, coaching, and consultation to social services staff.
• Monitor documentation, service quality, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Support program development, policy implementation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with medical staff, administrative teams, and community agencies to coordinate patient care.
• Provide direct social work services as needed, including psychosocial assessments, suicide risk assessments, family support, and care coordination.
• Oversee financial assistance requests and fund distribution for families in need.
• Assist with budget planning, grant development, recordkeeping, and data tracking.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and manage staff performance, including corrective action when necessary.
• Supervise students and volunteers as assigned.
