Job description

• Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department
• Manage staffing, development, budgeting, patient satisfaction, professional growth, and quality outcomes
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, Residency Director, physicians, and organizational leadership
• Implement the organizational vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidence-based practices, standards, and nursing support services
• Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified nursing staff
• Coordinate and monitor nursing staff workload, coverage, and operational efficiency
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and healthcare advancements
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies to enhance quality of care
• Develop and manage the nursing department budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor patient satisfaction and address concerns
• Gather feedback from patients, families, and healthcare providers to improve the patient experience
• Foster continuous learning and professional development; mentor staff and conduct performance evaluations
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and open communication
• Establish quality metrics, measure performance, and identify improvement areas
• Ensure nursing practices comply with UAMS, regulatory, insurance, government, and internal standards
• Serve as liaison between nursing and other organizational departments

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Five (5) or more years of clinical experience in the field of Nursing
• At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership capacity
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas
• Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
• Proficient in using healthcare software and databases
• Desire to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development

• Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
