Job summary

IBERIA MEDICAL CENTER in New Iberia, LA is seeking a full-time Scheduler to support physicians’ offices and patients in scheduling diagnostic and therapeutic services. You will ensure timely pre-certification and insurance verification, communicate financial responsibilities, and coordinate admissions with Case Management as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Two years related experience in a health care facility preferred.
• Background of medical terminology and prior health care experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians’ staff and patients with scheduling of procedures.
• Ensure pre-certification is obtained prior to procedures.
• Create pre-admitted charts for scheduled visits.
• Communicate patient’s insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and/or Financial Counselor.
• Notify insurances of admissions to obtain authorization and share clinical information as needed.
• Assist with renaming, uploading, re-sorting, and organizing the RightFax system as needed.
