Job summary

UF Health in St. Johns, Florida seeks a Clinical Risk Manager to support risk management programs in compliance with Florida Administrative Code.

You will facilitate regulatory surveys, design corrective actions, investigate occurrences, perform root-cause analyses, and maintain the reporting system with related databases. The role collaborates with Patient Relations on investigations and helps identify liability exposures while supporting the self-insurance program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with risk management coursework or certification within 1 year.
• CPHRM or equivalent risk management credential preferred.
• Healthcare risk management experience highly desirable.

Overview

The Clinical Risk Manager assists the Hospital Risk Manager with development and implementation of risk management processes designed to meet the requirements of the Florida Administrative Code. These include: facilitation of surveys by regulatory and accrediting bodies; development of action plans to achieve and maintain compliance with standards and regulations; occurrence investigation; root cause analysis with action plan development and follow-up; maintenance of the occurrence reporting system, along with databases supporting the system. This position coordinates with the Patient Relations department on investigations of complaints and grievances. This position assists with early identification of liability exposures and collaborates with the self-insurance program to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: One of the following: Florida Health Care Risk Management Certification, completion of a 120-hour Risk Management educational program, degree from an accredited law school and/or advance degree in health law from an accredited law schoolPreferred Education:Clinical background (Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine) or Master's degree in related field.Necessary Skills:1. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Ability to create charts and graphs and Powerpoint presentations. Must be willing to learn additional software.2.
