The Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (IUSCCC) is one of only 57 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States. This designation recognizes centers that meet rigorous criteria for world-class research in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

The Biospecimen Collection and Banking Core supports cancer research through comprehensive biospecimen management, including collection, storage, and distribution.

Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting with identifying and recruiting research subjects, determining eligibility, coordinating procedures, and monitoring study progress.
2. Conducting study visits, coordinating screening, consenting, scheduling tests, and managing follow-ups.
3. Recording data, samples, and results, maintaining databases, and producing reports.
4. Monitoring team compliance with protocols and SOPs, submitting regulatory paperwork, and communicating with investigators.
5. Developing communication and recruitment strategies and participant information materials.
6. Staying current on regulatory affairs and research best practices.
7. Providing support for study budgets, invoicing, billing, and other tasks.
8. Potentially guiding less experienced staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science or health-related field with 1 year of research experience, OR
• Associate's degree with 3 years of research experience.

Skills required include proficient communication, professionalism, time management, quality focus, flexibility, dependability, initiative, and relationship-building abilities.

This role requires physical ability to operate equipment, move objects up to 25 pounds, and work near moving parts with or without accommodations.
