Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Clinical Research Center Nurse to support diverse clinical studies within the CRC. Reporting to the CRC Nurse Manager, this at‑will position involves direct patient care, data collection, safety monitoring, and collaboration with physicians, coordinators, and lab staff across multiple study designs.

Qualifications

• Education: college degree in related field.
• Work Experience: 2–5 years in related job discipline.

Responsibilities

• Works with research participants across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Provides direct patient care: Performs nursing assessments, conducts protocol specified procedures, administers study medications/investigational products, and monitors patient safety during visits.
• Collects and manages data: Records clinical data, maintains case report forms, and supports data integrity for audits and monitoring visits.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, coordinators, and lab staff to support study progress.
• Educates participants and families: Explains study procedures and provide ongoing support across study timeline.
• Adheres to ICH‑GCP guidelines, professional nursing practice standards, patient‑centered care principles and evidence based best practices in all interactions with research participants.
• Reports adverse drug reactions and other safety concerns to the Principal Investigator and study team.
• Interprets information from caregivers, nurses, or physicians about patient condition, treatment plans, or appropriate activities.
• Has a solid understanding of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health‑care measures.
• Performs other related work as needed.
