Job summary
Northwestern Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator to oversee multi-disciplinary collaboration between NU and Northwestern Medicine, ensuring compliant conduct of cardiac surgery-related clinical trials. Qualifications
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
- Experience in clinical trials.
- BSN degree required.
- Minimum of two years related clinical experience.
- CPR-BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Leads coordination and support to Principal Investigator(s).
- Reviews research studies in pre-submission phase for feasibility.
- Guides review, revision, and maintenance of protocols for compliance.
- Provides guidance to clinical research nurses on new study submissions and workflows.
- Develops and maintains clinical nursing research policies and SOPs.
- Supports development of projects in response to research-related problems and events.
- Collaborates with Clinical Coordinators and peers to orient/train new staff.
- Identifies training needs for clinical research nurses on unfamiliar practices.
- Escalates research-related concerns to leadership or committee.
- Serves as mentor for communication and collaboration with investigator teams.
- Supports nursing staff during adverse events, emergencies, and difficult situations.
