Position Highlights:

The Clinical and Research Financial Administrator is responsible for providing analysis and business consulting services to support assigned departments. Business consulting services are provided for ongoing operations as well as new products and services, often in collaboration with Strategic Planning, Corporate Business Development, and Partnership services. Collaborates with operational leaders and central services to identify opportunities to redesign processes to reduce costs and/or maximize revenue, while complying with regulatory guidelines. Acts as a financial advisor to assigned areas. Interprets information from reports and other sources (which person in the role may have developed) and advises his/her customers of the meaning and impact of the information to the department and related strategies.

Responsibilities:

Executive Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain institutional performance dashboards reporting actual performance against goals.
  • Fulfill complex report requests requiring problem-solving and consulting skills.
  • Build and summarize a variety of financial reports with strong analytical skills.
  • Develop new analyses, reports, and dashboards to meet evolving needs.
  • Perform monthly quality assurance reviews on data accuracy and resolve issues.

Departmental Support

  • Prepare financial models for faculty or staff recruitment justification and proforma development.
  • Develop new analyses and reports as requested.
  • Train end users on reporting tools and collaborate with IT on dashboard development.
  • Calculate and report productivity metrics.
  • Interpret reports and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Produce complex ad-hoc reports as requested.

Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Provide data analysis and consulting for annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financials.
  • Support development of financial forecasts for assigned departments.
  • Collaborate with leaders to evaluate cost reduction and revenue maximization opportunities.

Strategic Support

  • Develop financial models for new services and expansion projects.
  • Assist with financial assessments for new programs and business development.
  • Support strategic cost and margin strategies and incorporate assumptions into budgets and forecasts.
  • Support strategic initiatives with financial modeling and reporting.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in financial analysis, healthcare finance, research finance, or business administration.

**CPA required (tracked by the business); in lieu of CPA, a Master's degree or an additional three (3) years of relevant experience may be considered, totaling ten (10) years.

Preferred:

  • Experience with planning, budgeting, productivity, and forecasting systems.
  • Experience in healthcare financial analysis or research finance.
