Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Research Coordinator to coordinate sponsored clinical trials and biospecimen collection across sites. You will guide physicians, staff, and sponsors, manage start-up activities, IRB submissions, and subject enrollment, and ensure documentation quality.

The role requires 2+ years in research, knowledge of GCP/FDA guidelines, and strong communication skills. Travel between sites may be required; on-site work 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Biology, Health Science, Nursing, or related field.
• Typically 2+ years of research experience; phlebotomy and pediatric experience preferred.
• Certification in clinical research (SoCRA, ACRP) preferred.
• Ability to mentor team and to prepare training plans.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sponsored clinical trials and biospecimen collection, guiding physicians and staff.
• Lead study start-up, budgets, CTMS reviews, IRB submissions, recruitment and enrollment.
• Develop educational plans to disseminate protocol information to staff and investigators.
• Ensure laboratory requirements for specimen procurement, processing and shipment.
• Serve as primary coordinator across multiple sites, liaising with sponsors and investigators.
• Coach and mentor team members; maintain source documentation and QA readiness.
• Maintain competency in research software; participate in education programs and committees.
• Licensed nurses may apply advanced assessment skills to support patient care.
