Job Summary

A research lab within the Brigham and Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine division seeks a motivated, personable, and detail-oriented individual to conduct clinical research related to cardiovascular disease and wearable sensors. This position involves working on a new project integrating cardiology, pulmonology, and data science at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in collaboration with a multinational technology company.

Qualifications

Summary:

The candidate will follow established policies and procedures to execute studies, recruit and evaluate patients (in-person and remotely), collect and organize data, and collaborate with research staff and industry partners. Responsibilities include engaging with patients, obtaining informed consent, guiding study procedures, and working with data science teams to ensure data integrity.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with clinical research studies according to protocols.
• Recruit and evaluate participants in hospital and over the phone.
• Interact extensively with participants, providing education and procedural instructions, and serve as a liaison between patients and physicians.
• Collect data, maintain patient databases, and perform basic data analysis and reporting.
• Maintain patient records and follow up with participants.
• Identify process improvements and assist with documentation and data flow management.
• Set up and monitor equipment, maintain inventory, and order supplies.
• Perform clinical tests such as phlebotomy and EKGs as needed.

Additional Job Details:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred:

• Degree in biology, chemistry, or related field
• Experience in clinical research and clinical settings
• Experience with statistical analysis or programming

Skills include excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism.
