Job description

Under close supervision, the clinical research assistant will work daily, reporting to a senior staff member and principal investigators. The role involves executing assigned projects, managing computerized data, and maintaining data quality across multiple projects. Responsibilities may vary over time based on project and grant demands.

Current Projects
  • Cohort of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Patients (COPPAR)
  • Brigham and Women's Rheumatoid Arthritis Sequential Study (BRASS)

Data collection focuses on identifying biological, clinical, and environmental risk factors related to these diseases.

Principal Duties
  1. Contact and collect data from subjects, including administering questionnaires in person or by phone.
  2. Code and enter data according to study protocols.
  3. Identify potential subjects for recruitment based on study criteria, review medical records, and maintain organized, accurate databases.
  4. Recruit study subjects from clinics, interacting with physicians, patients, and staff.
  5. Assist in drafting questionnaires, surveys, and interview formats, ensuring ease of administration and data accuracy; contribute to manuscript and abstract editing.
  6. Contribute to writing progress reports, regulatory submissions, and developing/revising research instruments and graphics.
  7. Communicate regularly with PIs and research team about trial progress.
  8. Manage biospecimen storage, update related databases, and perform quality control checks on samples.
  9. Assist data manager with data discrepancies and cleaning processes.
  10. Help produce and mail newsletters to study participants.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research experience with questionnaire and patient data preferred but not required.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
