Job summary

Genesiscareers is seeking an MDS Coordinator to manage clinical assessments, care planning, and MDS transmission in accordance with federal and state regulations at our nursing center.

You will coordinate Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documentation with the interdisciplinary team, perform concurrent MDS reviews to optimize RUG categories, educate staff on terminology, and support billing accuracy and compliant practice.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current LPN licensure in the state of employment.
• One year of long-term care clinical nursing experience is required.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, MDS completion, clinical resource utilization and/or case management is highly desirable.
• Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents at the nursing center to assure appropriate reimbursement for services provided.
• Conduct concurrent MDS reviews to assure achievement of maximum allowable RUG categories.
• Communicate with the Business Office Manager regarding case-mix data required for billing.
• Educate the interdisciplinary team on case-mix and the nursing staff in terminology, language, and format that is required by MDS
