Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a Medical Referral Coordinator to support specialty-care referrals in a military healthcare environment. The role involves processing referrals, verifying eligibility, and scheduling referred-care appointments to keep timelines on track.

As a Referral Management Clerk, you will review documentation, track activity, and assist patients, providers, and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• At least six months of experience in a medical office setting.
• Preferred: Administrative Assistant program.
• Preferred: six months of administrative support in a medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals for administrative completeness and research covered benefits before processing.
• Verify patient eligibility and schedule medical appointments for referred care.
• Provide patients and healthcare personnel with referral instructions and required documentation.
• Track referral activity and submit results to the referring provider and medical record within timelines.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages.
• Obtain, update, and file medical records to support referral processing.
• Maintain referral-tracking information and compile monthly reports.
