Job summary

Jefferson Health Abington Hospital is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to prep, scan and index clinical paper documentation across hospital, ED and outpatient settings. You will ensure patient identifiers, service dates and authentication meet regulatory requirements and that records are accurately linked in the EHR (Epic and Onbase).

You will perform quality reviews, index documents to the correct patient and encounter, and support timely access to electronic health information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Health Information Management experience preferred.
• Experience with scanning and indexing processes.
• Ability to work with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Prep, scan and index paper medical records for hospital, ED and outpatient areas.
• Perform quality review to ensure identifiers, dates and auth compliance.
• Assign documents to correct patient, encounter and document type in the EHR.
• Support timely access to electronic health information and assist with indexing corrections.
