Job summary

Jefferson Abington Hospital is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to prep, scan and index paper medical records for the hospital, ED and outpatient procedures. You will ensure patient identifiers, dates and authentication are accurate in the EHR to support safe patient care.

Responsibilities include picking up and delivering documents, verifying receipts, re-indexing when needed and performing quality analysis to maintain legibility and integrity of the record in Epic and OnBase.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with computerized systems and software.
• Strong communication abilities with staff and visitors.
• Able to push a WOW stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, scan and index paper medical records for hospital, ED and outpatient services.
• Verify patient identifiers, dates, and authentication in the EHR (Epic/OnBase).
• Pickup/deliver documents and track receipt of discharged records.
• Index documents to correct patient, encounter and document type.
• Perform quality analysis to ensure complete, legible records.
