Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board eligible with successful completion of the next exam.
• Completion of continuing education on acute stroke patient care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective methods.
• Follows and adjusts the therapist’s treatment plan based on patient response, with proper communication and documentation.
• Produces documentation per clinical policies.
• Provides treatments including therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and manages therapy EMR entries.
• Coordinates with PT and communicates progress and treatment recommendations to referring providers.
