Job summary

Matrix Providers is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to perform a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Examination in Fresno, CA. This is a part-time position paid hourly with in-office and telehealth elements.

Licensed psychologists or psychiatrists in at least one US state and BLS certification are required; 3 days in office plus one telehealth day per week. Competitive 401(k) plan benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed psychologist or psychiatrist in at least one US state.
• Board certification for psychiatrists or neurologists, or completion of a 2-year residency in either specialty.
• PhD or PsyD in psychology with focus on adult populations; child psychology not acceptable.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms; strong communication and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Review mental health history and conduct one-time non-treatment mental health exams for Veterans.
• Capture responses during exams via web-based forms; complete documentation electronically.
• Submit completed exams to the Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determinations.
• Support patient care during sensitive procedures with gender representation considerations.
• Work in a part-time capacity with in-office and telehealth elements.

Job description

We are hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our team of talented medical professionals to conduct a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exam in Fresno, CA.

• Employment Status: Part-Time
• Compensation: This is a hourly position, paid bi-weekly $60.45/hr.
• Schedule: Part time, 3 days in office required, 1 additional day telehealth available.

This role supports patient care during sensitive procedures where patients may request a same-gender staff member. The facility seeks to ensure appropriate gender representation among staff to accommodate patient choice.

Requirements

• Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one state in the United States.
• Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or must have completed a 2-year residency with either specialty
• Psychologists must obtain a PhD or PsyD with a Major in Psychology; Specialty studies must focus on the adult population such as Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (or a combination of these). Child-focused psychology programs are not acceptable.
• Psychologists must have graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA-accredited program.
• Certification: Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to providing excellent service and care.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms.
  • Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making.
  • Works independently and can manage time in order to provide a quality service while meeting set deadlines.
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in clinical settings
  • Prior VA or C&P experience

Job Summary

• Review pertinent mental health history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment behavioral health compensation and pensions exams for Veterans.
• The Clinical Psychologist will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
• Common reasons for assessment are PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
