Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Clinical Program Manager to assure competency assessment and educational interventions for nursing staff within the designated clinical program. The role interfaces with multiple departments to manage educational and operational impacts on care delivery, staff performance, and outcomes.

Responsibilities include leading clinical operations, staff recruitment and development, budgeting, policy maintenance, and performance improvement activities in collaboration

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• NPCertification in specialty area preferred.
• 5 years directly related experience; New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse; Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations within the program, ensuring initiatives run per policies and regulatory requirements.
• Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, and evaluates staff; manages performance and communicates department objectives.
• Develops and manages departmental budget with financial oversight.
• Plans, develops, and maintains SOPs; reviews and updates policies and procedures as needed.
• Coordinates educational and performance improvement activities with Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership.
• Develops action plans to support clinical performance and provides resources for nursing care delivery.
• Establishes short and long term goals, policies, and procedures for high performance in nursing care delivery.
• Coordinates and leads day-to-day educational program activities aligned with objectives.
• Analyzes clinical program activity data to evaluate performance and competence.
• Provides technical assistance, resources, consultation and education to clinical specialty service on orientation and competency.
• Serves as a clinical role model and resource to nursing staff.
• Prepares reports on orientation, ongoing competency, staff evaluation and outcomes.
• Provides status reports showing patterns/trends requiring action.
• Collaborates with health care team on policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Ensures readiness for Joint Commission surveys and presents related programs.
