Qualifications

• 5 years directly related experience (some supervisory preferred).
• New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical operations within the program, using data and problem solving to improve processes and outcomes.
• Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Develops, maintains and reconciles departmental budget with financial responsibility and oversight.
• Plans, develops, and maintains departmental standard operating procedures and reviews policies and procedures regularly.
• Coordinates educational and performance improvement activities within a designated clinical specialty.
• Establishes and implements goals, policies, and operating procedures for high-level nursing care delivery.
• Oversees collection and analysis of clinical program activity data to evaluate performance and competence.
• Serves as a clinical role model and resource to the nursing staff.
• Prepares reports on orientation and ongoing competency evaluations.

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

Masters in Nursing or health related field
