Job summary

Damar Services is seeking a Clinical Authorization Coordinator to support billing, clinical quality review, and provider communications. This role coordinates with treatment teams to ensure timely claim submissions and renewals while maintaining accurate documentation and payer interactions.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, have experience with clinical documentation and authorizations, and be prepared to obtain TCI and CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in social work, psychology, counseling or applicable discipline.
• Experience in social service field preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation requirements and prior authorization processes (DCS, Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurers).
• Ability to pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
• Ability to pass CPR Certification.
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements.
• Be clear of felony convictions or disqualifying criminal charges.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Background screening must be favorable.

Responsibilities

• Attends mandatory staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
• Maintains communication with pay sources (Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Medicare) and private insurers.
• Tracks behavioral health patient admissions and discharges.
• Monitors initial documentation and annual renewal dates.
• Collaborates with Accounting regarding client billing.
• Submits and tracks approval of clinical prior authorizations.
• Provides administrative support for clinical teams, as needed.
