Job summary

Damar Services is seeking a Clinical Authorization Coordinator to support billing, clinical quality review, and provider support across treatment teams. The role ensures successful claim submissions for behavioral health services, tracks renewals, and monitors documentation and authorizations.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience in social services, and be able to obtain TCI and CPR certifications. A valid Indiana driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Experience in social service setting preferred.
• Experience with clinical documentation, prior authorizations (DCS, Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers) helpful.
• Ability to pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
• Ability to pass CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandatory staff and other meetings as assigned.
• Maintain communication with pay sources (Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers).
• Track behavioral health patient admissions and discharges.
• Monitor initial documentation and annual renewal dates.
• Collaborate with Accounting on client billing.
• Submit and track clinical prior authorizations approvals.
• Provide administrative support for clinical teams as needed.
