Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Practice Specialist to lead education and professional development across the West Region and System Resource Teams. The role focuses on quality, safety, and evidence-based practice, partnering with clinicians to improve patient care.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff education, supporting specialty certification, and participating in leadership activities and council meetings to drive clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred or to obtain within 4 years of assuming role.
• Registered Nurse license issued by Illinois
• 3–5 years’ experience in the specified clinical area
• BLS through the American Heart Association
• Certification in related clinical area or to obtain when eligible

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements education opportunities for staff based on needs assessments and system goals.
• Supports staff pursuing specialty certification and monitors progress.
• Reviews unit/division dashboards for quality and practice improvements and acts with stakeholders.
• Monitors quality data with operations to address clinical quality/safety issues and creates action plans.
• Leads inter-professional teams for unit/division and hospital-wide process improvements.

Education

BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

MS in Nursing or to obtain within 4 years of assuming role
