Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System Sleep Disorders Center is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner or sleep technologist to conduct overnight sleep studies and monitor patients using the Ten-Twenty electrode placement. You will review charts, position patients, apply sensors, and document findings in the EHR for Meaningful Use.

NY licensure or polysomnographic technologist certification is required. This role emphasizes safety, precise recording, and timely communication with the Sleep Disorders

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited training program in Respiratory Therapy or related allied health field with enrollment or completion of sleep technology training
• Two years of experience with patients, laboratory studies or closely related field or the equivalent
• New York State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with registration by NBRC or as a Polysomnographic Technologist

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts and requisitions prior to greeting the patient
• Place and attach electrodes according to the Ten-Twenty method and monitor recordings
• Monitor the patient continuously, troubleshoot equipment, and document care
• Navigate EHR to input demographics, vital signs, medications, and allergies
• Complete overnight technologist report and ensure forms/logs are signed and scanned correctly
