Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a certified Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care under supervision. The role includes evaluating patients, formulating care plans, ordering tests, performing procedures, and coordinating with physicians and staff to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS credentials, with at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies or like degree is required.
• One (1) year of full-time, satisfactory clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Valid license and current registration to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by NYSED.
• Current certification issued by NCCPA.
• Life Support certification (BLS/ACLS) within 60 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations.
• Develops assessment and therapeutic plan with ongoing patient care.
• Orders and interprets labs, imaging, EKGs, and writes prescriptions.
• Performs procedures as trained (blood draws, suturing, biopsies, etc.).
• Initiates consultations and referrals as needed.
• Participates in rounds, conferences and quality assurance.
• Educates patients and families about care, treatments, and preventive measures.
• Supports supervising physician and assists with procedures within scope of practice.
• Conducts BLS and ACLS when life-threatening situations arise.
• Obtains informed consent for procedures and IV contrast.
