Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the greater Los Angeles area. Two positions are available: full-time and PRN.

The PTA will provide direct patient care under a Physical Therapist, document outcomes, and support the therapy team in a busy rehabilitation setting. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, teaching patients and families, communicating progress, and assisting with scheduling and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatment techniques.
• Understanding the principles of physical modalities used in therapy.
• Knowledge of prosthetic devices, ambulatory aids and assistive devices.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of a physical therapist.
• Completes documentation according to established procedures.
• Participates in support duties and professional development.
• Contributes to interdisciplinary team and safe working practices.
• Provides treatment per plan of care and current knowledge.
• Offers clear instruction to patients and families; communicates progress.
• Writes accurate daily notes and progress notes; maintains charges.
• Assists with scheduling and administrative support.
