Job summary

Messino Cancer Centers is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to perform blood draws, laboratory testing, and quality control in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will maintain instrument performance, prepare slides, process specimens, and document results in Onco/EMR for physician review, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must complete CEUs annually to meet COLA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws.
• Perform laboratory blood work with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Send outside labs to appropriate facility as dictated by patient’s insurance plan.
• Receive lab reports and document in EMR for physician review.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and coordinate service when required.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and safety guidelines.
• Assist in training new employees and support overtime as needed.
