Job summary

STGi is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide phlebotomy services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Plattsburgh, NY.

The role involves performing venipuncture and related specimen collection, plus front desk and clerical support to ensure smooth clinic operations. The candidate should have a phlebotomy certificate and CPR/BLS, with prefered hands-on experience in a similar setting.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification current.
• Two years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred in the last three years.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of phlebotomy including venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick.
• Prepare patients and paperwork; guide and assist patients as needed.
• Assemble tourniquet, needles, collection devices; ensure test-related setup.
• Verify patient identity and document specimens per SOP.
• Provide training or oversight for invasive procedures where applicable.
• Handle front desk clerical and specimen documentation duties.
• Educate on specimen collection requirements (e.g., fasting) and post-phlebotomy care.
