Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. seeks an In Office Dispensing (IOD) associate for the cCARE Cancer Center in Murrieta, CA. This is a brand new department; training will be located at La Jolla, CA, preparing prescriptions for physician dispensing and patient interaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
• 0 - 2 years related work experience or training preferred.
• Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a health care environment, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately tracks all prescriptions written by physicians and logs daily dispensing records.
• Supervises prescriptions in facility and ensures compliant e-prescribing and Medicare guidelines.
• Greet patients, explain the CCA dispensing system, and assist with selecting dispensing options.
• Uses Centricity and Pioneer to verify coverage and bill claims correctly.
• Inputs prescriptions in Pioneer and submits accurate patient information for claims.
• Works with insurers to obtain prior authorization for rejected claims and follows up.
• Performs other assignments as directed by management.
