Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacist to optimize patient care through rational and cost-effective drug therapy. The role involves monitoring drug therapy, conducting formulary reviews, and educating staff and residents in clinical practices.

You will participate in clinical pathway development, coordinate drug utilization reviews, and mentor pharmacy residents to develop into clinical specialists of the network.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or 4 years of demonstrated clinical experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA or eligible within 120 days.
• PGY2-Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical care in specialty practice area and reviews patient drug history.
• Implements and measures clinical processes to improve outcomes and reduce adverse events.
• Leads staff development and training of pharmacists, residents, students, and healthcare providers.
• Promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and develops clinical pathways for medication safety.
• Plans pharmaceutical care to meet department and organizational goals; may supervise/coordinate staff.
• Mentors Pharmacy Residents to become clinical specialists.
• Contributes to the medical community by presenting research or publishing results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
