Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a TH Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team. The role focuses on reviewing, interpreting, and clarifying orders while preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety and high standards of care.

The TH Pharmacist will work on a night shift and collaborate with clinicians to optimize therapy. Required qualifications include a BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD and a valid New York State Pharmacist license and registration.

Qualifications

• Required: BS in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree.
• New York State Pharmacy License and NY State Pharmacist Registration.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of dispensing systems and sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Accurately verify medication orders and enter them into the EMR when necessary.
• Review prescriber orders for dosage, allergies, drug interactions and legibility.
• Provide a double check for all technician- and pharmacist-prepared doses when required.
• Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile admixtures, including cytotoxic and other hazardous agents.
• Provide drug information to patients and to other professionals as requested.
