Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Florida is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Float with a focus on sterile compounding. The role supports patient care within a multidisciplinary team, requiring strong knowledge of USP 797/800 guidelines and safe, accurate preparation of medications.

The position requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, a valid state license, residency preferred, and at least some hospital experience.

Qualifications

• BS or PharmD degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Current Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Residency from an accredited program is preferred.
• 2 years hospital pharmacist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician requests according to policies and procedures.
• Verifies CPOE orders for accuracy and intervenes when inappropriate.
• Interprets verbal and written orders and documents in the patient’s medical record.
• Troubleshoots Centralized Order Entry orders.
• Prepares sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations per USP 797/800 guidelines.
• Evaluates Total Parenteral Nutrition for appropriateness based on policies or guidelines.
• Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
• Ensures safe, appropriate, evidence-based, and cost-effective medication therapies.
• Monitors medication therapy regimens for interactions, allergies, and dosing.
