Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in California is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to monitor and evaluate prescribed therapies, promote optimal drug use, and reduce risks of drug misadventures. You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a busy hospital setting to ensure safe and effective medication use.

The role includes medication information delivery, dose adjustments, and opportunities to train pharmacy staff and students.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or PharmD from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • A current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.
  • One year hospital or equivalent experience required; residency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with the pharmacy team, nurses, physicians and other staff to resolve drug therapy issues.
  • Provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders, labs and monitoring per policies.
  • Participate in the training of new pharmacists, students, and technicians.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Pharmacist, your work plays an important role in the care of patients and healthcare providers by assuring the safe and the effective use of medications as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist monitors and evaluates prescribed therapies to promote optimal drug use and evidence-based practices to reduce risks of drug misadventures. We have an amazing team.

  • You will have daily interaction with your pharmacy team, nurses, physicians and other facility staff in the hospital and intervene in conflicts between pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue resolutions that may arise.
  • You will provide medication information and consultation on pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, orders laboratory tests, medication monitoring according to established policies and procedures
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians
What qualifications you will need:
  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • A current and valid license as a registered pharmacist in the state of California.
  • One year hospital or equivalent experience required. Residency preferred.
