Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a casual/PRN role within the inpatient pharmacy team. You will review orders, prepare and dispense medications, and provide drug information to healthcare providers and patients.

The position focuses on medication safety, collaboration with pharmacists and technicians, supervision of trainees, and participation in new programs to improve pharmacotherapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy is required.
  • Residency training or equivalent experience preferred (1 year).
  • MI Licenses: Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacist Controlled Substance required (MI 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmaceutical care per standards and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee medication management activities and supervise Technicians and Interns.
  • Review orders for accuracy, interactions, and safe dispensing.
  • Educate patients and families about medications.

About the Unit Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage, distribution, and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions, accurately prepare and dispense medications, provide evidence-based drug information, monitor drug levels to optimize therapy, and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events, we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Scope of Work

Provides Pharmaceutical Care according to professional and departmental standards and statutory requirements. Provides safe, effective, rational, and cost-conscious pharmacotherapeutic recommendations through the department's medication management programs. The Clinical Pharmacist assists in supervising the functional activities of Pharmacy Technicians and Interns. Participates in department directed medication management activities consistent with Beaumont Health goals and objectives. The Clinical Pharmacist will demonstrate good judgment and decisiveness during daily activities, maintaining a working knowledge of current pharmaceutical practice, and demonstrate a personal commitment to professional growth. The Clinical Pharmacist will support management by providing oversight, guidance and support for all assigned areas and will participate in the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of new programs and activities.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy
  • Preferred residency training 1 year of relevant experience pharmacy experience (or equivalent)
  • Preferred LIC-Clinical Pharmacist - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • And LIC-Pharmacist Controlled Substance - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required
