Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Staff Pharmacist to support daily pharmacy tasks, dispense medications and monitor patient therapies in a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on reactions and drug interactions, help with quality improvement, manage inventory, and document using our systems. TN licensure is required; residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy.
• State licensure in TN required; board certification preferred.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize good problem solving abilities, resolving issues and consulting with other knowledgeable parties as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.
• Determine and consult on possible drug interactions.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor, record and communicate using computerized documentation systems.
• Apply knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for assists in preforming daily pharmacy tasks, including but not limited to: filling orders for medications, monitoring patient therapeutic medications, providing drug information, checking medications, IV mixtures and compounding medications, prior to distribution.

• You will consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.

• You will assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• You will monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy
• Licensure in the State of TN. Board Certification preferred
• One-year hospital experience preferred. Residency preferred
