Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Pharmacist for a PRN schedule. The role includes educating patients and healthcare teams on safe medication use and delivering timely, cost-effective pharmacotherapy. You will participate in rounds, support transitions of care, and mentor technicians and students.

Licensure as a Pharmacist and hospital experience are preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a Doctorate preferred, and a PharmD field of study.

Job Description:

• Open availability and flexibility are required. This position consists of 8-hour shifts, with start times that may vary based on departmental needs. Shifts may begin as early as 6:00 AM or at 7:30 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:30 PM (EST).
• Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
• Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
• Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
• Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.
