Job summary

SpartanNash, a major food solutions company with a broader store network in the U.S., is seeking a pharmacist. The role focuses on the compounding and dispensing of prescription medications, counseling customers, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records.

You will oversee pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, while contributing to clinical programs and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Requires Doctorate or PharmD with active license in good standing in the operation state.
• Immunization certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security rules, pharmacy laws, rules, and guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task, stay organized and detail-oriented; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive prescription and refill requests; fill prescriptions efficiently and accurately.
• Dispense medications as prescribed; oversee retrieval, counting, pouring, weighing, mixing, packaging and labeling.
• Provide medication counseling on prescription and OTC meds; advise on usage, interactions and storage.
• Manage inventory; perform cycle counts and maintain stock levels.
• Lead and oversee pharmacy staff as needed; ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Maintain pharmacy records and compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
