Job summary

UNC Health in Morrisville, NC is seeking a PRN Retail Pharmacist to support system outpatient retail operations across the UNC Health network. You will help optimize medication use, counsel patients, and participate in immunizations and access services.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree.
• Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, and reviews the patient's medication profile/history.
• Utilizes and analyzes patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations and clinical interventions.
• Compounds and oversees preparation and dispensing of medications including sterile products.
• Complies with the medication formulary and cost-optimizing substitutions.
• Counsels patients and family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs workflow of the shift and supervises pharmacy staff present during the shift.
• Adheres to regulations and quality standards and identifies process improvement opportunities.
• Precepts students and residents and participates in training new staff.
