Job summary

Sandhills Medical Foundation, Sumter, SC, seeks a Pharmacist to serve patients by preparing medications, providing pharmacological information to care teams, and monitoring therapies. The role is part of a PCMH team, with supervision of ancillary staff and duties spanning formulary management and billing oversight.

The Pharmacist will ensure compliance with HIPAA, participate in EMR workflows, and engage in ongoing training to support community health goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree ln Pharmacy, Pharm D. Degree or equivalent FPGE (NABP)
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
• Ability to participate with Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party payers
• Must be willing to work with SMF EMR system
• Must have a valid driver license
• Must be willing to work at different SMF locations if requested

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting provider's order(s)
• Detects therapeutic incompatibilities
• Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
• Oversees medications by monitoring drug therapies and advises when interventions are appropriate
• Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care providers
• Counsels patients on all new medication therapies, and other medications as seen appropriate
• Effective and efficient manages the pharmacy department's inventory and assets
• Develops and adjusts the pharmacy pricing strategy
• Directs the organization in the development and management of its medication formulary
• Manages/Provides oversight for the organization’s medication purchasing system
• Oversees and makes provisions for billing services for covered and sliding fee services
• Directs, manages, oversees, and generates revenues by calculating, recording and issuing changes to patients
• Maintains confidentiality and privacy per HIPAA and SMF policies
• Exhibits professional conduct at all times
• Performs all other duties as assigned
