Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacist to optimize patient care through rational, safe and cost‑effective pharmaceutical services, including dispensing, IV admixture, drug information, and therapy monitoring.

The role involves supervising pharmacy technicians and students, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining patient safety in a fast-paced hospital environment. Licensure in PA or NY and PharmD or equivalent required; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA and/or NY at hire or within 120 days.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions with prospective drug review and ensure safe, cost-effective therapies.
• Provide accurate drug information to health professionals, patients and the public.
• Assist in department management and training of technicians, residents, and students.
• Oversee daily inventory maintenance and ensure regulatory compliance for controlled substances.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work environment and support safety initiatives.
• Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
