Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients, ensuring safe medication management and participation in rounds.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, lead antimicrobial stewardship and dosing, optimize therapy, and contribute to cost-effective medication use while complying with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
• Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible.
• Eligible to sit for NAPLEX.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.
• PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop, implement, and maintain clinical pharmacy programs.
• Provide clinical pharmacy leadership and support across patient care areas.
• Lead antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulation management, and other pharmacy initiatives.
• Review and verify medication orders for appropriate drug selection and dosing.
• Monitor therapy for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness of therapy.
• Enter and verify medication orders in the pharmacy information system.
• Compound, prepare, and dispense medications safely and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and formulary management.
• Provide timely drug information and therapeutic recommendations to clinicians.
• Communicate with physicians and care teams to optimize outcomes.
