Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to support medication dispensing and pharmaceutical services. Works under the Director of Pharmacy to ensure safe drug therapy and participates in the on-call system for continuous coverage.

The role includes supervising Pharmacy Technicians, reviewing orders, and assisting with intravenous medications and IV pump setups while maintaining drug records and collaborating with Nursing Service.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and checks all activities carried out by Pharmacy Technicians.
• Supervises technicians in the filling of physicians' orders.
• Checks physician orders for accurate filling prior to delivering to nursing units.
• Ensures accurate and prompt delivery of unit-dose medications and controlled substances to inpatients.
• Translates and profiles intravenous orders into the Meditech System.
• Supervises preparation of total parenteral solutions and IV medications.
• Maintains records and inventory on all drugs.
• Provides drug information to physicians and staff about drugs and interactions.
