Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field required; Doctorate preferred.
• Three years experience in pharmaceutical department.
• Pharmacy license in good standing in the state of operation.
• Immunization certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security rules, pharmacy laws, rules, and guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Bilingual skills helpful based on demographic region.

Responsibilities

• Receive prescription and refill requests from customers and clinics and fill prescriptions efficiently and accurately.
• Dispense medications as prescribed; oversee accurate retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, mixing, packaging and labeling.
• Provide medication counseling and advise customers on prescription and OTC medications, drug interactions and storage.
• Order, stock, check inventory, and perform cycle counts for prescription and OTC items.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight and ensure proper storage.
• Maintain pharmacy records, including customer profiles, insurance forms, and controlled substances registries.
• Lead and/or oversee pharmacy technicians and interns as needed.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Maintain and implement pharmacy programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
