Job summary

UHS in McAllen, TX, seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to join the multidisciplinary care team. You will support antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety, and dosing optimization, participate in medication histories, monitor therapies, and respond to codes with prepared medications.

Responsibilities include supervising staff and, in the director's absence, assuming essential duties. A BS or Pharm.D. and Texas license are required, with specialty residency or hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an accredited school.
• Current Texas Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Becoming BLS/ACLS/PALS certified within 6 months of hire.
• ASHP IV certification or ACPE/ASHP accredited program within 180 days if not already certified.
• Strong communication in English; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support antimicrobial stewardship and medication safety as part of the clinical team.
• Assist with medication histories and monitor patient drug therapies.
• Respond to Codes and prepare needed medications per protocol.
• Supervise and direct supportive staff; cover Director duties when required.
